Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme quarterly statistics

The latest Help to Buy statistics released today (30 March 2017) show that more than 112,000 completions have now taken place through the Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme, which offers buyers up to 20% of a newly built home’s costs so they only need to provide a 5% deposit

The main points are: 

  • 112,338 properties were bought with the support of the Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme

  • the majority of sales were to first-time buyers (90,724) representing 81% of total sales

  • the average purchase price was £233,403

  • North West local authorities featured in the the top 20 in terms of completed sales include: Manchester (11th), Liverpool (15th), Cheshire West and Chester (16th) and Cheshire East (20th).
