AWARD WINNING BARRATT DEVELOPMENT IN WIGAN FEATURES IN BBC SUNDAY POLITICS PROGRAMME

A local Barratt Manchester development which recently scooped the prestigious title of 'Best Large Housing Development of the Year' in Wigan council's Building Excellence Awards - has featured on BBC TV show, The Sunday Politic programme.

Barratt Manchester MD, Neil Goodwin, was interviewed at Blundell's Wood, located on Foundry Lane in Wigan - one of Barratt Homes' most successful homes developments.  Its award locally, coupled with its coveted national five star build accreditation status, has led to unprecedented sales - many achieved thanks to Help to Buy.

The BBC programme covered a range of housing issues in the UK, including the shortage of affordable housing.   It also profiled one of the key measures put in place by Government to help solve the problem - including the highly successful Help to Buy scheme, which has so far helped around 100,000 people to step on or up the property ladder.

Commenting on the filming, Neil Goodwin said:

"We were delighted to be offered the opportunity to talk about Help to Buy on national TV, and to be able to showcase one of our most successful developments here in the North West, Blundell's Wood.

"The popularity of the scheme, coupled with the accolades we've received for the development itself, has proved to be a phenomenally successful combination."
