Buying in the North West Could Save You £280 a Month

Renters in the North West could reduce their monthly costs by up to 34%* by purchasing a new build home, based on the cost of a three-bedroom home at Countryside’s Queen Mary Place development. Prices start from £152,950.

One Liverpool couple were keen to escape the costly renting cycle, and by doing so are now saving £280 each month, which they will put towards the arrival of their first child.

Keen to accommodate their growing family and set up a new life in the suburbs, newlyweds Andy Jones (27) and his wife Hope (25) are now the proud owners of a brand-new three-bedroom home at Countryside’s Queen Mary Place development in Fazakerley, Liverpool.

The local couple bought their new home though the government’s Help to Buy scheme, which allows first time buyers to purchase a brand-new home with just a 5% deposit and 20% interest free loan.

Retail Manager, Andy commented: “Having rented all our lives, Hope and I were keen to step onto the property ladder and start married life in a place we could call home. With Hope working long hours as a nurse in the local hospital and a little one on the way, it was important to us that we found somewhere that strikes the right balance between traditional family life whilst remaining in close proximity to local amenities and good primary schools.

“Queen Mary Place ticked all the boxes and the personal service we received from the team at Countryside made the whole process incredibly stress-free and enjoyable. Having explained how the Help to Buy process worked, Countryside put us in touch with an independent mortgage advisor and we were able to move in within a couple of months. Renting just feels like dead money and we want to start building a future for our family.”

Drawn to the large bay windows and open-plan kitchen, the couple opted for The Ashwell, one of seven luxury house types available at the development on Long Lane.

Peter Vella, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at Countryside, commented: “With the cost of renting in the UK reportedly set to rise faster than house prices over the next five years, it’s no wonder that people are keen to snap up a property of their own. With schemes such as Help to Buy offering such low deposits we hope to see more first time buyers step onto the property ladder.

“Not only can buying be significantly cheaper than renting, but it also gives people the chance to lay foundations for their family’s future and provides the stability that comes with owning your own home.”

Queen Mary Place is being built in partnership with Sigma and Liverpool City Council’s regeneration partnership, Regeneration Liverpool, as part of a wider vision to create a thriving sustainable community.

Open daily from 11am until 6pm, the Queen Mary Place Show Village is located at Queen Mary Way, off Long Lane, Liverpool, L9 6ER. For more information please visit www.queenmaryplace.co.uk, contact the sales team on Tel: 0151 601 4860 or follow us on Twitter @QueenMaryPlace.
