David Wilson Homes (DWH) North West’s award winning Blundell’s Wood development in Wigan has reported an unprecedented level of interest in the Help to Buy scheme  - and from a wide variety of buyers.

Normally associated with first time buyers, the scheme has also proved popular with “next steppers” – exiting homeowners looking to move on and up the property ladder.

With just a handful of three and four bedroom homes remaining, DWH North West is delighted with both the number and mix of buyers at the development.   Commenting on the success of Help to Buy at Blundell’s Wood, Sales Director, Steve Jackson, said:

“Obviously we’re delighted with the response from buyers to our homes at Blundell’s Wood, but it’s also been great to see more take up from people already on the housing ladder looking to take the next step up.

“Bridging the gap between the cost of a smaller property to buying one that provides more space for families to grow into can be a big financial leap for many buyers – not because of the household  income being  insufficient to pay the mortgage, but largely because of the deposit required.  Help to Buy addresses that issue, enabling people the freedom to buy the home they really want to buy.”

Blundell’s Wood was last year awarded the prestigious title of ‘Best Large Housing Development of the Year’ in Wigan council’s Building Excellence Awards – and has also featured on BBC TV show, The Sunday Politics programme.  Its award locally, coupled with its coveted national five star build accreditation status, has led to unprecedented sales – many achieved thanks to Help to Buy.

Homes are available for sale from £210,495.  For details go to: http://www.dwh.co.uk/new-homes/greater-manchester/H599201-Blundell's-Wood/
